ABOUT US
The firm was started in 1900 by William Southam, as agricultural auctioneers and valuers, and expanded to encompass all types of property sales and agency within the East Northamptonshire area.
Southams are located in Oundle in East Northamptonshire, which comprises the Nene Valley and the Rockingham Forrest Tourist Area. Overall we serve a wide area central and east Northants, South Leicestershire, parts of south Lincolnshire, North Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire.
In 2008 in view of the rapidly changing nature of agency, business practice and the economy,
Southams became three separately owned businesses.
Southams – Auctioneers Valuers & Estate Agents
In Residential terms we deal with the sale of every sort of property from retirement flats, family
homes,
cottages through to large country homes, and we can provide a full range of services tailored to our
clients needs, including bespoke property details and advertising.
We also provide expertise in professional valuations and surveys of residential and commercial
property.
Southams Property Management
This is a dedicated business as Residential Letting Agents and manage a number of properties for
our landlords in the Oundle and surrounding area.
Our Commercial Property Section deals with the letting and management of shops, offices and
industrial units.

As an experienced Auction Department we conduct the sale of real property by auction, but we
specialise
in the sale of Modern Sporting Guns and Antique Arms.
Our wide experience of weapons of all kinds together with our market knowledge, auction expertise,
specialist contacts and understanding of the relevant law and regulations, ensures that we
can provide a complete and dedicated centre for acquisition and disposal, involving local, national
and international clientele.
The saleroom is now permanently based at the Bedford Auction Centre, which just manages to contain
them,
and in recent years the sales have extended to include live internet bidding and a following timed
online auction, meaning that our auctions now reach a global audience.
